I know a lot of artists read my blog…..And this is too good not to share. So I was trying this “miracle” egg white application to fix a droopy eyelid….One of my eyes has a heavier lid, so I figured what the heck…I will try it! Anyway….no miracle there. But after my show I discovered one of my huge canvases had support bar marks all the way across the canvas from being pressed too hard into it….No amount of spraying water on the back and drying was getting them out….I gave up last night. Then this morning as I am egg whiting my eye lid…The light bulb went off!! LOL….So I smeared the egg white all over the back near the marks including where the marks were and I then blowed it with my hairdryer on low heat until dry…Viola!! Marks completely gone!! Sooooo if you ever have a canvas…

I Did It!!

Yes I did!  I’ve got my first art show under my belt and it was a great success!  It was a very small show, but I still sold 3 originals and 30 prints.  Other artists around me who have done many shows said I did amazing….phenomenal and outstanding.  I’ve got my eye on something for March or April and then next year a BIG show (you have to apply to the big shows up to a year in advance).

I learned a lot going through this experience and that wisdom is priceless.  Just like online sales, art does not sell itself.  It is not enough to just set up your tent and hide to the side.  Of all of the tents I could see and the two on either side of me, I was the one making sales and getting people into my space.  And the phrase…

The most precious people the world has ever seen

CrazyandSane's avatarDeb@crazyandsane

Hello everybody, welcome to TradeRoutz livingStyle blogS,

I got to thinking about our World, and in particular, as it’s on everybody’s mind, the people of the Philippines right now. Then, my mind raced through the other people of our planet, who are lost, displaced, or, who nobody really knows much about, because they are so ‘tucked away’.

One tribe that we at TradeRoutzare very close to, or have strong feelings about, are the Kalahari Bushmen from Africa/Botswana. Thought to be the oldest Tribe on our Planet, these people are also known as the ‘gentle people’. They are also commonly called the ‘San’ people. The beauty and their wisdom, their hard lives (which they choose as hunter gatherers), as well as where they live, in the fierce Africa Sun, shows on their weathered faces.

How To Stalk (or Source) Someone on Twitter

Matt Charney's avatarSnark Attack

Twitter can’t be beat when it comes to business development.  Sure, it’s good for engagement, and great for sharing content.  That’s what it’s really designed for, after all.  But the nice thing about effective engagement and relevant content on Twitter is that you can build up a very targeted, highly segmented base of followers which essentially make them warm leads.

If you want to know how to proactively source talent with Twitter’s advanced search function, Jen Picard recently published a great guide for recruiters worth reading.  For just-in-time recruiting, I’d also recommend FollowerWonk, a free tool offering many of the same functions but with some nice sorting and ranking tools.  Getting true value from Twitter, however, is entirely correlated (in my experience) not to who you find or engage, but who your followers are.

The Début on the Artists Carpet

CrazyandSane's avatarDeb@crazyandsane

Hello everybody, welcome to TradeRoutz livingStyle blogS,

Don’t you love it when something really EPIC happens in your life? When your passion is part of your daily routine? There are thousands of people all over the planet, definitely not loving what they are doing. Working to pay for a house, a car, education, food and everything else that we need to survive, and most make the best of what they do, and for those that are not happy, they have the courage to continue anyway,  but I can’t help feeling, that inside everyone is an artist. Either a designer, a pianist, a painter, a sculptor, in fact, whatever you perceive, has been designed by an artist.

So, when we, at TradeRoutz livingStyle, go out far and wide seeking out those artists that have given up everything to live their passion, we find the most outstanding, rare items, from outstanding, rare…

How much do you know About.Me ?

Screen Shot 2013-09-27 at 10.18.06 AM

About.Me
Not sure if you all had heard about this one yet or not. This is my page http://about.me/owfotografik on this site.

This is a site that is like an “about me page” but it is a whole site. So I can have a bio and links to all of my social networks and sites.
I have seen people using this as their “about me” on their website or blog. Have a link to this site rather than coding an about me page.

As you can with many social styled sites, you can interact with other users. The really cool part about this site is that they encourage integration with all of your other Social Media sites and Websites. It is truly a comprehensive listing of you online. The social aspect makes it possible for you to connect with someone across all of their social sites on the internet. In some ways you could even use it as a “mini resume” page.

About.me (Usually styled as about.me) is a personal web hosting service co-founded by Ryan Freitas, Tony Conrad and Tim Young in October 2009.[2] The site offers registered users a simple platform from which to link multiple online identities, relevant external sites, and popular social networking websites such as Facebook, Flickr, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter, Tumblr, and YouTube. It is characterized by its one-page user profiles, each with a large, often-artistic background image and abbreviated biography.” – Wikipedia
